Great looking show…the smell was very mild. Let’s be real people… You are buying a mass-produced, factory made shoe that you use once or twice a year. This isn’t supposed to look, feel, or smell like a $500 hand-tailored shoe! It may last…it may not…but it’s probably cheaper than renting! Got lots of positive comments because of the formal, timeless, capless, Oxford look. The minute I put them on, never once thought “this shoe smells”. The smell comments seem way overblown to me.

Amazing shoes! Most comfortable tuxedo shoes ever – had them on for 7 hours of the official ball including walking and dancing and they feld is slippers. They great as well! I normally don’t write reviews, just had to write this one.Just make sure that you take them out of the box a couple of days before the event – they stink :) The smell does go away though.Not sure how long they will last but for the price if they last 2-3 events, I’d be happy with the purchase.True to size too

I was really torn about these patent leather shoes but ultimately I returned them.They arrived quickly and were very nice looking and they fit well (9.5 M).They did have that bicycle inner tube smell that was noticeable up close. So I took them out of the box and put a fabric softener sheet in each one and left it like that for over a week. While it did help reduce that synthetic rubber like smell, I just felt that for my daughter’s wedding I could wear my dress black shoes instead. If I had been a groomsman for a wedding then I would have used the patent leather shoes.Now if I were to take a ballroom dancing class or have a need for a patent leather shoe but didn’t want to spend hundreds on them, then I would wonder these shoes without hesitation.

My husband got these shoes for our daughter’s wedding. He stayed in them for about 15 hours and they were just wonderful. He said they were the most comfortable shoes.

I bought these because my son was attending two proms this year. They look great, and only had a few creases after a night at the first prom, as you can see in the picture. My son has a wide foot, and he didn’t complain about the fit. The first problem is that the chemical smell is pretty overwhelming. I wiped them down, and aired them over the floor vent. The smell was not as noticeable by prom. The second problem is that they squeaked at first. Wiping them down seemed to help a little and fixing the shoe strings. Mostly it was just wearing them for a little while that made the squeaking subside.

They fit just fine. They have a very strong plastic or rubber smell. I never got to use them. We put them out in the garage on the bumper of the car tor air out. You can guess what happened next.

The shoe itself was nice, however, the box was black on the inside and marked/stained various spots on the shoes. Had to spring into action to clean the shoe as they arrived the day before I needed them to wear to an all white event. The shoe I’ll give 4 1/2 stars; the illogical boxing of not protecting the shoe all around in a black box that runs/stains: 1 star.

These are by far the most comfortable tuxedo shoes I have ever worn…. lasted through the entire wedding and reception including dancing… were as comfortable as tennis shoes. A heavy plastic smell… I wore them the day after I received them…. was only noticeable in small areas like the car. Most of the smell is gone two weeks later… would advise to order earlier than I did.

Great shoes. Very comfortable wearing the first time. Danced all night. Wish I had replaced my old shoes earlier. Yes there is a slight odor initially upon opening the box but was not aware of it when wearing. Even asked my wife if she smelled anything and they passed the wife test. Can’t attest to longevity of the shoes but they passed the first night and didn’t fall apart. Great deal.
